In der Nacht von gestern auf heute sind in den USA die 73. Emmy Awards verliehen worden. Host der Award Show war in diesem Jahr Cedric The Entertainer, ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler und Comedian. In den USA wurde die Verleihung auf CBS ausgestrahlt. Hier in Deutschland hat TNT Serie die Ausstrahlung übernommen.
Ganz vorne mit dabei war HBO mit 130 Nominierungen ihrer Shows. „The Crown“ und „The Mandalorian“ haben jeweils 24 Nominierungen erhalten und damit das Kopf an Kopf-Rennen von Netflix und Disney+ als dazugehörige Streamingdienste eröffnet. „The Mandalorian“ ging dann so ziemlich leer aus und die Gewinnendenliste war wenig abwechslungsreich – angeführt haben sie „The Crown“ und „Ted Lasso“.
